The Lenovo K6 Power was announced some time back, with 3GB of RAM, and Lenovo is upgrading the device now.

The Lenovo K6 Power has 3GB of RAM, and was announced in India some time back. The device received favourable reviews, and was recommended by critics. However, Lenovo is now updating the device, bumping the amount of RAM on it. The new version of the Lenovo K6 Power will have 4GB of RAM and will be sold from January 31 onwards. It will be priced at Rs. 10,999.

This is obviously a reaction to Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 4 announcement. The Lenovo K6 Power had been widely accepted as the best smartphone to buy under 10k. However, Xiaomi’s announcement of the Redmi Note 4 trumps that. The device is available for Rs. 9999, Rs. 10,999 and Rs. 12,999 for 2, 3 and 4GB of RAM, respectively.

Lenovo presumably hopes to stay on top of the game with a better specc’d smartphone at an even more competitive price. Other specifications of the smartphone will remain the same. The Lenovo K6 Power has a Snapdragon 430 SoC, 4GB of RAM and 4000 mAh battery, along with a 13MP camera on the back and Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
