Remember the Fitbit Ace? The fitness tracker is Fitbit’s first device to be meant for kids, and it’s not available for sale. The Ace is targeted at children over the age of eight and is a version of the Fitbit Alta. It will be sold on Amazon, Best Buy, Fitbit.com and Target for $99.95.
The Ace will be sold in two colours, including purple and electric blue. It’s worth noting that the device isn’t available in all countries just yet.
While it is meant for children, the Fitbit Ace does many of the things that other Fitbit products do. That includes tracking steps, the number of minutes you have been active and how long you’ve slept. The tracker also gives you push notifications that are designed to help children stay more active whenever they’re inactive for long periods.
Further, the tracker can also provide body fat percentage, calories burned and some more information that will be showed only to parents. This information can be accessed from the new family accounts section that you will find on the company’s website.
The Fitbit Ace competes against trackers like the Vivofit Jr. by Garmin and the LeapFrong Leapband.
