WhatsApp is bringing back the old version of its status feature.
It seems WhatsApp is not quite done with its old text-based status feature. The social messaging app is reportedly bringing back its status feature. The beta version of WhatsApp on Android apparently has the feature already.
What’s interesting, though, is that WhatsApp is replacing the new Snapchat-style status for this one. It seems the reaction to the new feature was mixed, from the app’s millions of users.
Version 2.17.95 of WhatsApp has the feature already, reports say. It gives users the old Available, Busy and other options. Of course, you’ll still have the option to set your own custom message as well.
What you will not have, though, is the option to post images or GIFs on the app. The new version of WhatsApp’s status allowed users to do this, and have them disappear in 24 hours.
The feature, of course, reflects Snapchat’s whole philosophy. It is also not the first time that one of Facebook’s app have done so.
