Nintendo Switch significantly outsells Microsoft Xbox One in UK

This is particularly pivotal, considering how the UK happens to be one of Nintendo’s slower markets.

The Nintendo Switch is proving to be majorly popular across the globe. Ever since its introduction, the modular gaming console by Nintendo has been seeing considerable action from developers building games for the platform and companies scurrying to add peripheral accessories for the console. Now, the latest report coming out of UK states that the Switch is comfortably outselling the Microsoft Xbox One console in the nation.

While it is still behind the Sony PlayStation 4 (and significantly so), the news should reach Nintendo as a big milestone as UK has always been one of Nintendo’s slower markets.

While it is still behind the Sony PlayStation 4 (and significantly so), the news should reach Nintendo as a big milestone as UK has always been one of Nintendo’s slower markets. The Switch recently reached sales figures of 1.5 million units in Japan at breakneck speed, breaking a number of records en route. With such sales figures, the buoyancy around the Nintendo Switch should remain growing as with more buyers, the console should see more developers, both from independent studios and big houses, pool in efforts to provide more games to a new platform of gamers.

With Microsoft slated to put the Xbox One X for sale soon, it remains to be seen how the Xbox-Switch tussle plays out. Nevertheless, the Nintendo Switch is scoring high on popularity charts, particularly with indie developers at the moment. To keep up with the sales rates, Nintendo has also promised higher availability of the console during holiday season.
