Wanted one? Well, now you can. A company called X-Naut is selling an Active Cooling Mount for the iPad. It’s a case for the device, that adds four cooling fans to it. It can be affixed to the back of the tablet and keeps the device from heating up. The Active Cooling Mount draws power using a micro-USB cable or eight AA batteries, though these aren’t included with the device.
The device also has a battery test button that helps you track its battery life. A light will glow green for high battery life, while yellow and red indicate low battery and re no battery, respectively. The company claims that the fans on the iPad are “low-noise fans”, with noise levels up to 26 DBA.
The Active Cooling Mount is priced at $199.99 for the top end version. The iPad Mini variant of this one costs $179.99, and there’s also a $50 discount on the case for Black Friday.
