The Razer Phone is now available with in a limited edition gold variant now. Unlike most “gold” variants though, this one is not really golden in colour. It has the same firm black body, but the Razer logo on the back is in gold. You get the Razer Phone Gold Edition in a red box, and it’s being sold in the US and Hong Kong right now. The whole endeavour is meant to celebrate the Chinese Spring Festival.
To recap, the USP of the Razer Phone is in the fact that its display has a 120Hz refresh rate. It also has two loud speakers on the front, and is perhaps the only smartphone aimed at gamers.
The display has QHD resolution, but lacks 18:9 aspect ratio. It runs on the Snapdragon 835 chipset clocked at 2.45GHz, accompanied by the Adreno 540 GPU. You get 8GB of RAM onboard and 64GB storage, that can be expanded using a micro-SD card.
The Razer Phone also has dual cameras on the back, including a 12MP camera on the back, with f/1.8 aperture and a 13MP camera with f/2.6 aperture. There’s also an 8MP front camera and 4000 mAh battery. It runs on the Android Nougat operating system.
Razer is not hiking the price of this one, selling it at the same $699.99 price tag.
