Tesla has opened its largest Supercharger station in the country. The station is situated somewhere between the Bay Area and Los Angeles, off the interstate 5. It’s in the town of Kettlemen City and has solar rooftops and loungers for Tesla drivers who come there to recharge their cards. It looks a lot like a truck stop, which has sparked speculations about Tesla’s expected semi truck as well. The company is set to unveil that truck today.
While this new supercharger station is the largest in the US, it’s not the largest in the world.
While this new supercharger station is the largest in the US, it’s not the largest in the world. That’s reserved for the supercharger station Tesla has in Shanghai. Tesla had earlier indicated that it wanted to build larger charging stations and have convenience and retail stores alongside as well. Essentially, the company is trying to build its supercharger stations in the same image as traditional gas stations.
Further, Tesla is reportedly planning to build a big station in Baker, California as well, which will be situated halfway between Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Apparently, Tesla is also including coffee shops and outdoor seating options in that station.
