Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Tab A, an 8-inch tablet "designed for the entire family" schedules to be available on November 1.

The Galaxy Tab A boasts a refined look with a sleek, metal body and smooth rounded edges making it comfortable to hold. It offers a long-lasting battery and increased on-board memory with expandable storage.

The long-lasting 5,000mAh battery of the Galaxy Tab A lets users power through movies, games, emails and more, all from a single charge that lasts up to 14 hours.With 16GB of built-in storage and expandable memory up to 256GB, the Galaxy Tab A allows the user to store more apps and content whether at-home or on-the-go.Samsung features an 8-inch 1280 x 800 display with 480nits brightness and a 16:10 aspect ratio

Featuring an 8-inch 1280 x 800 display with 480nits brightness and a 16:10 aspect ratio, the Galaxy Tab A is available in two different colour options - black and silver and is priced at at $229.99

According to the Galaxy maker, “the Galaxy Tab A is designed for parents and kids. It's the tablet that's just as easy to take on the go or curl up with on the couch, with long-lasting battery life to get the whole family through the day," Alanna Cotton, VP and GM of product marketing at Samsung, wrote in a press release.

Samsung says the Galaxy Tab A buyers will receive three free months of YouTube Red at purchase. The company claims the Kids Mode features exciting games, videos and content from partners including 5,000 videos and games from The LEGO Group as well as a social network themed LEGO Life app with exclusive sticker content.

The Galaxy Tab A will be available via the company’s website from November 1. Samsung failed to clarify when it will hit the retailers.
