Tesla has just received a big order for its recently announced semi trucks from PepsiCo.

Tesla has just received another big order for its recently announced semi trucks. The company has received an order from PepsiCo, for 100 of these trucks, says a report by Reuters. The report says PepsiCo is looking to use the trucks to reduce emissions and also reduce its own fuel costs. Tesla recently raised the prices for reserving these trucks, pushing them up from $5000 to $20,000. That means the company has received a minimum of $500,000 from PepsiCo and may even got $2 million.

Tesla's semi trucks will be used alongside the fleet of 10,000 big rigs that PepsiCo already has.

Tesla also received an order from Anheuser-Busch recently. Interestingly, Busch’s order was the largest pre-order for Tesla’s semi-trucks so far, but PepsiCo just trumped that order. In the US, the Tesla trucks will be used alongside the fleet of 10,000 big rigs that PepsiCo already has. The company wants to reduce its emissions by 20 percent by 2030 and the trucks are part of that plan, according to Mike O’ Connell, senior director of Notrh American supply for Frito-Lay, a subsidiary of PepsiCo.

This also brings up the total number of pre-orders Tesla has received so far. The company also has orders for 15 trucks from Walmart, which was placed just a day after they were announced. It has orders from JB Hunt Transport Services too, though the numbers for this one aren’t yet available.
