Motorola is preparing for its next big smartphone announcement. The company has started sending out invites for an event on August 2nd, where it will make a “big announcement”. By the looks of it, the device will be a flagship smartphone, and it will be launched in multiple countries at a time. According to a statement the company gave to The Verge, the phone will “change the way people use and interact with their phones”.
That suggests an extension to the company’s modular flagships so far. However, given that Motorola hasn’t achieved a lot with those devices just yet, it’s likely that there will be some major changes this time. Interestingly, not much has been seen by way of leaks, for this device, so we really have very little idea of what it will be.
On the other hand, speculations are that this will be the Moto Z3 smartphone, and the rumoured Motorola One Power could also make an appearance. The One Power is an iPhone X-like device, with a notched display and 18:9 panel. It’ll be interesting to see what kind of interactions Motorola comes up with, given that the company has been good with UI features on its devices.
