The Xbox One is not being sold in the US anymore. Microsoft is now selling only the Xbox One S and Xbox One X are offline retail outlets, and on its online store. You can also get refurbished models of the original Xbox One for $199. It is unclear whether the move is limited to the US for now, but Kotaku UK has reported that the Xbox One is still listed on Microsoft UK store, although the product is “sold out” there.
Though slimmer, the Xbox One S supports 4K Blu-Ray discs, and can also playback 4K content on Amazon and Netflix.
Nevertheless, this seemingly marks the end for Microsoft’s four-year-old console. The Xbox One was launched by Microsoft about four years ago, and competed against Sony’s Playstation 4. The console was priced about $100 more than the PS4, but the price was later dropped when Microsoft unbundled the Kinect from the Xbox One.
Further, Microsoft announced the Xbox One S last year, which was a slimmer version of the console. Though slimmer, the Xbox One S supports 4K Blu-Ray discs, and can also playback 4K content on Amazon and Netflix. The Xbox One X was followed by the Xbox One X, which Microsoft says is the “fastest selling Xbox pre-order ever”.
