The LG G7 ThinQ just went on sale, but leaks of the next LG flagship have already begun. It seems the LG G8 ThinQ will be the device the company launched next. The new leak also comes from a pretty trustworthy leakster, called Ice Universe, who has been correct with his or her information in the past.
According to the leak, the LG G8 ThinQ will have a notched display with 4K resolution and an LCD panel. That would be in line with LG’s G series so far, which have been using LCD panels over AMOLED displays. There’s no confirmation on when the device will be launched though.
However, LG’s G series flagship is usually announced at Mobile World Congress every year. So, it’s possible that the LG G8 ThinQ will be seen near the end of February next year, alongside the Samsung Galaxy S10. Incidentally, the Galaxy S10 will also be the phone’s chief competitor, if it is indeed launched at MWC.
Also, using a 4K display will make LG one of the few to embrace that resolution on a smartphone. So far, only Sony has been seen making use of such a display, for its Xperia XZ Premium line.
