The Google Assistant is making its way to a whole new device. At CES 2018, Lenon unveiled a set of new Smart Displays that run on Google’s AI assistant. The same will also be seen on such displays from LG, Sony, Lenovo and JBL. The devices are essentially screens, meaning they will compete with the Amazon Alexa powered Echo Show device.

This is the first time the Google Assistant has been seen in such a a form factor, but Google needs to increase app support and get more developers interested if the platform is to grow.

Lenovo’s displays come in 8-inch and 10-inch variants. The smaller version is priced at $199, while the larger one will cost you $249. The Smart Displays will support Google Maps, Google Photos, YouTube, video calling and Google Duo. They will also act as hubs for smart devices, including those from Nest, a company owned by Google.

Lastly, both these devices run on the SDA 624 chipset from Qualcomm and have 720p cameras on them, voice calling. They have a speaker on the left side and the front facing camera is covered by a slider, presumably for security purposes.
