Apple released iOS 11.2, bringing Apple Pay Cash along with it. It’s somewhat unusual, since Apple’s updates usually come on Tuesdays. A bug found in 11.1.2 is probably the reason why Apple sent out the update early, and out of turn. So, iOS 11.2 is not just a regular OS update, it also brings up an important bug fix.

Apple Pay Cash is the company’s new peer-to-peer payments service. The service allows users to send money through Apple’s iMessage implementation, making it a direct competitor to Venmo. The service allows users to deposit money onto an Apple Pay Cash card, placed inside Apple’s Wallet app on iOS. This can then be used to buy items using Apple Pay, transfer back to a bank account or sent to a friend or family member.
Further, the iPhone X and iPhone 8 series now get faster wireless charging capabilities. With iOS 11.2, Apple is adding 7.5 watt charging to the Qi wireless charging pads. This means the devices will now charge faster than before. Lastly, you will also get a new live wallpapers option on the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, same as that seen on the iPhone X.
