Following earlier reports that Apple is getting ready to update its Macbook line, the company surprised everyone by announcing the update today. The company’s Macbook Pros, the 13-inch and 15-inch versions have been updated with Touch Bars and they’re also getting some new specs, to improve performance, at least on paper.
The 15-inch Macbook Pro now has a hexa-core 8th generation Intel Core processor, while the 13-inch version has the quad-core processor. There’s also support for 32GB system memory now and 4TB SSDs.
The prices have also been hiked of course. The new Macbook Pros start at $1799 for the 13-inch variants, while the 15-inch version will cost you $2399 and above. The prices go up to $6699 for the 15-inch version.
In addition, the laptops also have the True Tone feature on their displays, while “Hey Siri” is support is also being added to them.
While new Macbook buyers might like the updates, these new devices remain iterative. According to Ming Chi Kuo, noted Apple analyst, updates for the Mac Mini and other Mac products are also on the way.
