Buying an iPhone X is difficult thanks to Apple’s steep pricing for it. But, it seems the device’s upkeep is going to be no easier. Replacing the screen of the iPhone X will cost you $279, which is steep, even for Apple. The number is about twice that of the iPhone 6’s screen, which costed $129. Even the iPhone 8’s screen can be repaired for $169. Of course, these prices apply for those who don’t buy the extended warranty for the iPhone X.

The pricing was first reported by MacRumours. The publication also noted that all other repairs for the iPhone X will cost you $549, which probably makes the iPhone X one of the most expensive phones to fix today. It’s possibly even the most expensive phone in terms of repairs, today.
That said, it seems it’ll be simpler to get the extended warranty for the iPhone X. With this, you can get the screen repaired for $29, while everything else will be repaired for $99. It’s worth noting that Apple repairs things under “accidental damage” with the extended warranty. This is probably the only iPhone where buying the Applecare+ plan will be cheaper.
