Martin Scorsese, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci, all packages into one big deal.

Netflix has reportedly bought Martin Scorsese’s upcoming gangster movie, called The Irishman. Scorsese is one of the many big names that Netflix has spent on now, with others including Angelina Jolie, Will Smith and Brad Pitt, who are all currently involved in projects that will be streamed on Netflix, perhaps all exclusively. The strategy has worked for Netflix in the past, with the company spending lots of money on exclusive shows.

However, Martin Scorsese isn’t the only big name that Netflix bags with The Irishman. It seems Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Al Pacino are all involved in the movie as well. That has to be a home run, right? Netflix somehow got the band back together. The film is apparently expected to be released in 2018 and given the star power, it may even take Netflix to the Oscars.

The film is based on a crime book called I Heard You Paint Houses, written by author Charles Brandt. The story followed hitman, Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran and his file. Reports say that the film will use CGI to make the characters look younger than they currently are.
